Hellevoetsluis, March 18, 2026 – CanAdelaar announces the successful completion of the installation of its advanced odor filter system. This significant step, completed in March 2026, underscores CanAdelaar's commitment to being a responsible neighbor and adhering to the highest operational standards in line with the ambitions of the Cannabis Experiment.
Substantial investment in odor reduction
CanAdelaar has made a substantial investment of over €3 million in advanced air purification technology at its cultivation facility. This new setup includes: More than 200 carbon filters for terpene neutralization at ground level. More than 70 ASPRA air filters mounted as roof units.
These specialized, multi-layered filters capture and neutralize odor-causing compounds in the greenhouse air. The purified air is then discharged outside. The latest upgrades of 100 filters became fully operational in March. Since the implementation of these systems, we have observed a noticeable reduction in odor complaints.
A Stronger CanAdelaar through the Cronos Group
CanAdelaar's upcoming inclusion into Cronos strengthens our capabilities as a responsible community member, employer, and participant in the Dutch Cannabis Experiment. Cronos provides global expertise, R&D, and resources, which is expected to enable us to further optimize our operations and maintain high standards. CanAdelaar products will continue to be cultivated in the Netherlands, thus preserving local production and employment for our employees. Both CanAdelaar and Cronos support the Cannabis Experiment and its goal of creating a well-regulated adult-use cannabis model.
Community involvement and the Cannabis Experiment
CanAdelaar's goal is to contribute to the community and be a responsible neighbor. We have created local jobs, contributing to the livelihood of 170 residents and the economic health of the area. We also support local organizations such as Kinderboerderij De Kerkestee and A Seal Centre Stellendam, which underlines our commitment to the well-being of this community. The Cannabis Experiment creates a fully regulated and transparent supply chain, establishes high quality through tested products, and ensures full traceability via advanced technology. The Ministry of Justice and Security directly supervises our operations. We are convinced that the Cannabis Experiment is a model for responsible regulation of adult-use recreational cannabis, and we are committed to making it a success.
With the completion of these advanced filter installations and the show of support by Cronos , CanAdelaar looks forward to a future where we can fulfill our role as a responsible and innovative cultivator within the Cannabis Experiment without odor nuisance, while simultaneously having a positive impact on the local community.
